By popular demand, I've finally posted lots of new Isaac photos. There are new ones in almost every album, but be sure to check out his first birthday and the new spring 2007 ablum. I've also put up some incredibly fetching photos of Isaac, a spoon, and very messy bowl of oatmeal in the winter 2006 album.
I've decided to read Shakespeare, and lots of him. I've only ever read Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet, which makes me feel like an uneducated boor.
I just finished The Taming of the Shrew, which I expected to be a light-hearted comedy. Turns out, it's actually a dark tale of brainwashing and torture. Who knew! Shakespeare's hero uses tactics which would make George Bush proud -- including sleep deprivation, starvation, and humiliation. Which gives me an idea... Bush should invoke the "Shakespeare defense" when trying to justify things like Guantanamo Bay.
Turning 1 and walking weren't quite enough to make my little angel baby a toddler. But lately he's started screaming at the slightest frustration -- a shrill, high-pitched, top-of-his-lungs, people-staring-at-me-in-the-store kind of scream.
He can't reach a puzzle piece under the dresser: scream! Mommy won't let him put the sippy cup into the diaper pail: scream! He can't reach the oven knobs: scream! Mommy leaves the room: scream! Daddy plays with him a minute too long: scream! And so on.
